“My name is Mark Dixon and I own Kitchen Movers.
“We are part of the circular economy because we stop these kitchens that are sent to landfill or not reused as a kitchen and make it so it is a better value product for a customer. It is installed into a customer’s house and reused as a kitchen increasing the value of not only the kitchen but the property that it’s going into.
“The circular economy is important because it’s taking a product that is still useful, still has a purpose and being used to its full potential. It’s not being just thrown out and added to landfill. It is a waste to see such an important household item just go to the dump.
“So the circular economy in South Australia is very important. We have the opportunity to be a role model and leader in creating a model for the rest of the globe.
“It is a global problem, the recycling of kitchens, and it would be nice to be at the forefront and have something set for the future.”
